Weekend Bust and Buttinsky

It was the best of weekends, it was the worst of weekends...

My Saturday was a BUST!  I was planning to go on a bike ride with Ma and Daddy-dog but it rained all day long and we all know this terrier does not like to get wet.  So we did some chores (boring) and them watched a movie.

However, Sunday was great!  The sun was shining and I overheard Ma and Daddy-dog talking that they needed to set up the tent to make sure it was in good condition so we could go on a Dog-Friendly Florida camping adventure.  You know I made sure to get in on the action (I am such a buttinsky sometimes)!

OK...floor saver is set.

I found the front corner!

Making initial inspection.

Setting the corners

This will be MY spot!

Everything was perfect.  I was all set to go on my camping adventure when Ma and Daddy-dog said something disappointing:

What do you mean I have to wait until NEXT weekend?

I cannot wait to find out where my Dog-Friendly Florida camping trip will be to next weekend.  But, going camping means that I will have to miss out on another Dog-Friendly Florida adventure:

Pookie's Rescue Fest in Maitland, Florida

Pookie's will be hosting their 5th annual fundraiser and adoption day to benefit local non-profit animal rescue groups on January 26, 2013 at Lake Lily Park and the Maitland Civic Center (from Pookie's Rescue Fest website).  And guess who will be there...Col. Potter Cairn Rescue Network.  Unfortunately, I am going to miss out on meeting some of my Cairn Terrier cousins but you don't have to.

You will be able to spot CPCRN's booth because the "yellow brick road" will lead you right to them.  They will have a LIFE-size Dorothy (from the 'Wizard of Oz' - duh!); you can have your photo taken with Dorothy and a REAL-life Toto since there will be 6 Cairn Terriers there - all of whom, by the way, are alumni of Col. Potter Cairn Rescue Network.

OH!!!  And guess who else will be there...Honora, from my Friday Finds post...she's still looking for her forever home, you know.

There's going to be lots of other stuff at the booth too, including some gift baskets that will be raffled off.  So...If you are up near Maitland, FL on the 26th between 10 am and 4 pm, you can go to Pookie's Rescue Fest and visit the Col. Potter Cairn Rescue Network tent/booth (as well as tents/booths of other rescues and shelters - let me not be rude!)

I, on the other paw, will be hanging out in the "big travel crate" (the tent) somewhere in the Florida wilderness practicing my best wolf impression.  Aroooooooo!  But I will be thinking of CPCRN and I will have my paws crossed for Honora - here's to hoping she finds a forever home!

Today I have joined the first ever Florida Bloggers Blog Hop - thank you Christie at Life with Beagle for creating and hosting this hop!  Hello fellow Florida Bloggers!

  4. Your camping trip sounds like fun. We could probably never take Rita camping - she'd bark at every little sound in the night and annoy all the other campers. THere would be no "happy campers" with her around I fear!

Can't wait to hear about your adventure. We will live vicariously through you!

    1. Yes, well I am a barker too. I think Ma and Daddy-dog have their fingers crossed that I behave. I am usually good but it has been a while since I've been camping. I guess we will find out soon enough!

    1. Hi Goose. The spot was comfy and warm though I think, where we are going for our adventure, it may be "cool" or even "cold". I will have to MAKE a warm spot and then not give it up to Ma or Daddy-dog. BOL
