Stay-cation Saturday

Today Ma, Daddy-dog and I had a staycation (a vacation at home).  We went to Okeeheelee Park - a County park near our house - for a wonderful morning bike ride!

I was so excited because we haven't been on a family bike ride since our trip to Islamorada!  I think that ride wore Ma out...riding into the wind with me "hanging ten" on the back of her bike in my basket (I cause a lot of 'drag' BOL).
"Hurry up and get the bikes ready!"
We rode around the park for some time before I got an extra-special surprise...a stop at the dog park in Okeeheelee Park, Pooch Pines!  I got to run around, off-lead (which is a rare treat), and play frisbee with some of the other very nice doggies in the park.  I also sniffed a lot of pee mail and left some of my own!

Off-lead and loving it!
I was getting quite hot zooming around the park so we stopped at the dog fountain for a bit of fresh water.  It was very refreshing.

After another lap around the park and another sip of water, we were back to bike riding.  We rode around the lake, checking out all the sites, then ended up right back at our car.  It's only a 15 minute car ride from our house, but I was zonked-out for the ride home!

Bikes, dogs and a nap! What a great Staycation Saturday!

  3. It looks like you had a great time. We keep getting rain mixed with fat snowflakes here today, while the sun is shining! That's Michigan for ya!

  4. Sounds like an awesome day! How do you like riding on the back of the bike? We are afraid it would make us motion sick!

  5. That sounds like a great staycation! I'd love to go biking too (though I don't have a bike yet). The dog fountain is a really good idea. I wish they'd think about it here too. Poor Aschiuta lets out a mile long tongue during hot days.

  6. I love riding on the back of the bike; I tend to sit sideways in the basket so I can catch the wind in my face. I've never gotten motion sickness from the bike.

It was a great day and I did take a long, and well-deserved, nap when we got home. BOL Hope everyfur had a great weekend too!

  7. Looks like it was a great day for a ride/walk and you had a wonderful time. We can't wait for the weather to get a bit warmer here so Rosie can get back to her daily walks. We're expecting rain/sleet and more cold today so she'll have to wait a bit - her little feet get too cold. Have a great Sunday Oz
