Boo-Boo Belly, Bye-Bye!

Are you a dog with a 'Boo-Boo Belly'?

"I have boo-boo belly"
You know, do you get the grumblies (indigestion), or the soupy-poopies (diarrhea) a lot more often than other dogs? Do you sometimes up-chuck (vomit) for what your human would consider 'no apparent reason'? Maybe you just toot a lot?!? Well, you are not alone. Many dogs, including me, suffer from what I like to say is 'Boo-Boo Belly'.

Ma says I have had 'Boo-Boo Belly' since I was a young pup. Sometimes, everything would be quite normal and then, all of sudden I would either have trouble doing my business or have 'urgent' business to deal with (like a corporate CEO but without the briefcase). In addition, I would sometimes up-chuck for really no reason at all - whether I had food in my stomach or not. And when I felt sick, I would refuse to eat any or all of my food (can you imagine NOT eating?).

I can't eat a thing...sigh.
I have been to the vet for my 'Boo-Boo Belly' as well as my 'itchies' (skin allergies) many times. I do like my vet, Dr. D, a lot; he is very nice and is always concerned with my well-being and he does give me medicine (yuck!) to help make me better. Unfortunately, a lot of medicines bother my 'Boo-Boo Belly' and so Ma started doing research on canine irritable bowel, immune systems (for the allergies) and ways to strengthen a dogs immune system (she is very resourceful and understands all that medical speak).

Around that time, I was contacted by a company about their new probiotic supplement for dogs. ProActiveBalance TM said their supplement would introduce the health benefits of both probiotics and prebiotics into my diet to help prevent intestinal disorders and to boost immune system health. Since Ma had already been researching both probiotics and prebiotics for dogs' digestive health and immune systems it seemed like a perfect opportunity to see if they would work for me.

  • What are Probiotics?  They are the "friendly bacteria" that live in the intestines that help maintain a natural balance and promote a healthy digestive system.
  • What are Prebiotics?  Dietary fiber that helps stimulate growth of friendly bacteria (the probiotics) in the digestive system that are beneficial to your health.
Let me just say that the supplement is in granular form and the first time Ma put it on my food, I knew something was up! However, upon further inspection of my food I could find no scent of anything 'medicinal'; thus, I reluctantly ate my entire dinner. Now, I watch Ma to make sure she sprinkles the 'special seasoning' (ProActiveBalance TM) on my dinner before I eat it.

Ma has been adding this Probiotics for Dogs to my dinner every night for more than one month and since then I have noticed that:
  • I no longer have the grumblies
  • I have regular 'business' every day - no more soupy-poopie or constipation
  • I haven't up-chucked at all
  • I still have some 'itchies' but not nearly as many patches.
So basically, I have said "bye-bye" to 'Boo-Boo Belly'Isn't that terrierific?!

I would say that if you are a dog who suffers from 'Boo-Boo Belly', you should try the ProActiveBalance all-natural supplement to see if it works for you.   If you are interested, you can visit their website here to learn more about it.

  1. Hmm, that is something to think about! The doggies among us have pretty tough stomachs, considering the weird things we manage to find and eat. But we do get stopped up sometimes! Maybe we will tell Mama about this stuff!

  2. Hi Oscar, So glad that you are feeling better, and apparently over the "BOO BOOs". We have enough to worry about without having problems like that. And a FidoHurrah to your Mom also, for taking such good care of you.

  3. Trixie, Lily & Sammy-Joe: I have never had iron stomach, like most dogs. Ma used to worry until the vet said we dogs can have irritable bowel and stuff like that...just like humans. This supplement really has helped, so I hope other dogs who have the same problem may read this, try it and have it work for them!

Joke Puppy: Ma says I am her "baby" and her "angel" so she takes extra special care of me! So lucky. Be glad you dont have to worry about 'boo-boo belly'!

  4. Oscar...I don't have BooBooBelly very much but I do have itchies...especially on my back right near my tail

My mom just ordered the sample from the website, but she doesn't know where we can go to buy it

  5. Gizmo! It did take some of my itchies away. I still have a couple of patches, b ut nothing like before. Ma says the probiotics & prebiotics strengthen the immune system...and allergies are an over-reaction of the immune system...so we thought it couldnt hurt to try.

Let me know if it works for you! It took a while to start working so be patient!

  6. I wonder if your mom is going to try Lexie on it to try to remedy her smelly poo. Hmm, time will tell.

  8. Good to know. Gus has dealt with skin allergies and upset stomachs too. We've also beeen to the vet (numerous times) and tried many different meds. We finally switched his food and that seemed to do the trick. This sounds like a good product!

  9. Gus & Human: I have been on medicines for the stomach as well as the itchies off and on as well. I sometimes still need medicine for the itchies, but not as much and not at all for the stomach! It has really helped so maybe it can work for you. Never hurts to try...

  10. Glad your boo-boo belly has gone. I'm lucky not to have a problem there. I only had soupy-poopies a few times & it was when I was a bit younger & got over-excited. (I know it doesn't sound like me to get over-excited!).
