Find Unconditional Love at Your Local Shelter

Look at this face! This kind of unconditional love is as close as your nearest shelter.

It’s National Adopt a Shelter Pet Day, a day to raise awareness for pets in need of loving forever homes. In honor of shelter pets everywhere, we want to share this amazing story and video:

YouTube has partnered with chart-topping “i hate u, i love u” singer-songwriter gnash and Best Friends Animal Society’s NKLA (No-Kill Los Angeles) Pet Adoption Center to produce a short documentary video titled “gnash’s pet project – making music for dogs”. The video follows gnash on his journey to learn about psychoacoustic therapy for animals (how animals perceive and respond to speech and music) so he can help his rescue dog Daisy overcome anxiety and depression.

The result is gnash’s ‘song for Daisy’ which instantly calmed Daisy down when she heard it. Amazingly, gnash then took the song to No-Kill Los Angeles to see if his music would also help alleviate stress and anxiety in shelter pets and it worked. The dogs were calmed almost immediately.

You have to see it to believe it. It is truly extraordinary and moving to see Daisy and the shelter dogs’ reactions to the beautiful music. This video is a must-see for dog lovers everywhere so please watch and share it.

If you have an anxious or stressed pet, or if you would just like to hear gnash’s ‘song for Daisy’ in full for yourself, click here to listen on YouTube.

  5. Our mom is going to bookmark the page with the song and see if it can help calm us down. Right now we are both sleeping so she can't tell if it is making any difference.
