Dog-Friendly Holiday Shopping in 2017 Mazda CX-3 #drivemazda

To get ready for the holidays, Mazda provided Oz a 2017 CX-3 subcompact crossover SUV in Dynamic Blue Mica. The sporty ride made Oz’s holiday shopping adventure fun and comfortable.

Mazda provided Oz the Terrier a 2017 CX-3 Grand Touring FWD to test drive in exchange for sharing our experience with the vehicle. Oz the Terrier only shares information we feel is relevant to our readers.

We raced from store to store in the 2017 Mazda CX-3 during a holiday shopping adventure. We had several presents we wanted to buy, both large and small, and we were hopeful everything would fit in the shorter hatchback.

You may remember our dog-friendly adventures in the 2016 Mazda CX-3 Grand Touring last year. We received the 2016 in Dynamic Blue Mica too. The 2017 is very similar as Mazda has not changed much to the vehicle.

What We Love About Mazda CX-3

Styling – Mazda CX-3 has striking exterior design with sharp creases and tight proportions which gives the vehicle a confident and agile feel. The contrasting white, black with red interior and overall design aesthetic gives the impression that you are riding in an upscale sports car, not a crossover SUV. The Mazda CX-3 is the essence of Mazda’s KODO Design expression where simple lines express energy and movement, even at a standstill.

Performance – 2017 Mazda CX-3 Grand Touring comes with a Skyactive-G 2.0L engine with 146 horsepower and six-speed Sport mode. That is significant Zoom-Zoom for a crossover on any adventure. This model gets a good 29 miles per gallon (city) and 34 miles per gallon (highway).

Safety – The Grand Touring Mazda CX-3 comes with optional i-ACTIVSENSE technology that includes cameras and radar to give you a sixth sense on the road. The Lane Departure Warning and Blindspot Monitoring help alert the driver to hazards well before they happen.

On the road, Oz is always safe and securely buckled in with his Sleepypod Clickit Sport travel safety harness.

The 2016 Mazda CX-3 was voted “2016 IIHS Top Safety Pick Plus when equipped with Available Smart City Brake Support”. Mazda’s Smart City Brake Support is a collision avoidance system whereby a laser-based sensor monitors vehicles that are a short distance ahead of the vehicle and can, when necessary, automatically apply the brakes to avoid a collision.

Though we did not drive very far from home, we did have a successful holiday shopping adventure. We visited three different stores and all of our packages fit neatly into the 2017 Mazda CX-3’s cargo area. Our only disappointment was the 6-way manual driver’s seat. We were hoping the CX-3 would include the powered driver’s seat as that makes it so much easier when there is more than one driver.

The 2017 Mazda CX-3 Grand Touring is a sturdy yet small crossover that is great for a small family with a small dog. You can find more detailed information and specifications for the 2017 CX-3 on Mazda USA website.

And remember, at Mazda “All Roads Lead to Adventure”. Zoom-Zoom.
