Road Trip to Adventure in Mitsubishi Outlander Sport #DriveMitsubishi

Over the Christmas holiday I was given the opportunity to test-ride the 2015 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport.  The Outlander Sport is a smaller, more affordable version of the Mitsubishi Outlander which I test-rode last year.

Oz the Terrier reviews 2015 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport

Comfort
Though the Outlander Sport is smaller than its namesake, it has a very comfortable and space-efficient interior.  The front seats are comfortable and easily adjust front-to-back as well as up-and-down which Ma likes because she is a bit short.  The back seats easily accommodate two adults comfortably as well as one small dog.  Larger dogs will still have plenty of room with one adult seated next to them.  The back seat also includes a fold down padded center armrest with cup holders.

The cargo area is quite spacious for a crossover SUV.  It can easily hold holiday packages or adventure gear and it makes for a great spot to gear up before heading out on a hiking adventure.  Both back seats fold down to make for a larger cargo area if needed.  You can also fold down just one of the seats, making room on one side of the cargo area while keeping seating available for a passenger.

Safety
The Mitsubishi Outlander Sport is one of the safest vehicles in its class.  It has all the features you would expect from this type of vehicle plus a little more.  Of course, we are always happy with the rear backup camera system but the Outlander Sport also includes stability control, anti-lock brakes, side and side-curtain airbags as well as front knee airbags.  The adjustable seat height allows for great visibility all around the vehicle and also makes for loading pets (or children) into the back seat a breeze.

Performance
We found the Outlander Sport to have a responsive feel while driving on highway and side roads.  Though we got one with All Wheel Drive, when we were on our park hiking adventure we did not test that out on the park’s dirt roads.  The only thing we were disappointed with was that the acceleration seemed a bit slow or sluggish especially when in ECO mode.

Overall
The 2015 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport has a sporty, beefy exterior and we loved the Octane Blue color.  On the inside, it is comfortable and spacious with well-lit and well-placed features.  If you are looking for a family-friendly and dog-friendly crossover SUV that feels more like a car than a truck, the 2015 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport may just be the vehicle for your next Road Trip to Adventure.

  2. that is Mom's favorite color - it was the color of her old PT Cruiser. One thing we don't like is those HUGE speakers in the back - that would not be fun for a pup in the back.

  8. The color is amazing. I have a blue 2016 Ford Escape and I love it. Having a new car is such a luxury, but finding one that works for dogs and is a good price is a little more challenging. I considered the Mitsubishi, because I've heard great thing about the brand, but decided to stick with Ford.

  14. We loved the Outlander, but it was a bit too big for us, this would be more our size. Looks like a great car!
