Get Moving! It's Walk Your Pet Month

What better way to start off the New Year than with Walk Your Pet Month?  I spent the New Year’s weekend walking and hiking with Ma and Daddy-dog on trails in one of our State Parks.  It was a great way to start 2016.

Oz the Terrier hiking Highlands Hammock State Park in Sebring, Florida

Ma and I have decided that we will commit to trying to take three big walks a day, weather permitting, for the month of January.  I think it will be fun and it will make us both happier and healthier.

Will you be celebrating Walk Your Pet Month with more walks, hikes or adventures?

Do you have an adventure you would like to share?
If so, my #WoofingAdventure Instagram Photo Contest with friends at You Did What With Your Weiner is still open and we would love for you to share your adventure with us!  Two winners will receive a pawesome Adventure Package with a single CAIRN subscription box (for the humans) and a Ruffwear Webmaster Harness (like the one I am wearing in the photo above).  You can see the full details and contest rules in my IG post HERE.

  8. I am trying to get out more too. Also trying to take an outdoor picture once a day, but I have a feeling that will be difficult since it's dead half the time. I always love the Florida scenery in your photos Oz... reminds me of a jungle!

  14. We walk three times a day - everyday! The key to our success is that we start as early (after breakfast) as possible. This seems to work for both the Boys as well as me. Our last walk is right after dinner (which is pretty early - 4:30) and then they've got the rest of the day - evening to romp and play. Good luck Oz - I know you can do it!

  18. A perfect way to start the new year, especially after having family here for the holidays that tend to sneak lots of extra goodies to Haley.

  19. SNowy sidewalks and sidewalks with salt and ice melt puts a dent in our mileage but mom is hoping we can run with them on Friday!

  22. We will definitely be walking and moving more this year and participating in Walk Your Dog month. ☺

  23. We love a good walk. So far this month 2 days have been too cold to walk. When it gets below -20 C/-4 F we won't go very far. Lady made up for it some by taking us on 2 walks today!

  24. I hope Mom enters me in the contest! We never do 3 walks in a day, but one walk a day is fun for us. Sometimes we just walk around our neighborhood, but that's still a walk.

  26. How we love our walks!!! We try to get two a day in the good weather, but in the winter it is never more than one. We are hoping we can rid of this newly fallen sleet and ice so we can get out walking again soon.

  28. We celebrate it every day of the year, so this month won't be any different. We love our walks.

  29. The three lazy Scotties say that walking is against their religion. I will be taking three walks a day without them and keeping my aggravation to a minimum. Walking down the driveway is enough exercise for them.

  30. Enjoy your walks, I have to get my gang out more for some walks.

  31. Three long walks a day is great. We take two longer walks and a few short ones weather permitting. Happy 2016!

  37. We should definitely be walking more, but it is sooo cold and dark. I hate January and February.
