Welcome to Florida

After our stay at Tallulah Gorge State Park in Georgia during my Big Adventure, we were happy to cross the border back into our home State of Florida.

Oz the Terrier makes a stop at the Florida Welcome Center on his latest road trip

We always stop at the official Welcome Center when we are on a road trip because Daddy-dog enjoys the free cup of Florida orange juice.

Florida Orange Juice Fun Facts:
  • Florida is second only to Brazil in global orange juice production.
  • Florida produces 70% of the United States supply of citrus fruits including several varieties of oranges and grapefruits.
  • You can buy a sack of Indian River oranges at the Welcome Center (and several other rest stops) and squeeze your own fresh orange juice.  No need to add sugar or sweeteners because Florida oranges are naturally sweet enough for juice.

I am joining good friends Sugar the Golden Retriever and Dachshund Nola for Black and White Sunday.

  12. That is so cool that you can get a free glass of oj at the welcome center, and buy oranges too! There is nothing like freshly squeezed orange juice, though I've never had it right at the source like that! :)
