What Do Popcorn and Peanuts Have in Common? #PeanutsMovie

You can get your fill of both at the movie theater!  You can eat your popcorn while watching the new 3D animated film The Peanuts Movie, by Twentieth Century Fox and Blue Sky Entertainment, coming to theaters nationwide on November 6, 2015.

The Peanuts Movie poster from 20th Century Fox and Blue Sky Entertainment

This family-friendly film directed by Steve Martino and produced by Craig Schulz, Bryan Schulz, Cornelius Uliano, Paul Feig and Miachel J. Travers centers around everyone’s favorite underdog, Charlie Brown, and his best pal Snoopy.  In the film, Charlie Brown embarks on an epic and heroic quest while loveable Snoopy takes to the skies to pursue his arch- nemesis, the Red Baron.  The film’s outcome will prove that every underdog has his day!

We are big fans of the Peanuts gang here at or house.  We watch every holiday special over and over again.  How about you?  What Fun Facts do you know about Charlie Brown, Snoopy and the Gang?

Snoopy soars as the Red Baron in the new The Peanuts Movie due in theaters nationwide November 6

Fun Fact:  When Charles Schulz was in high school, he submitted an original Snoopy drawing to be included in the yearbook but the yearbook committee rejected it.  Now, Central High School in St. Paul, MN has a 5-foot statue called “Scholar Snoopy”.

Fun Fact:  Snoopy was actually inspired by Schulz’s own childhood dog Spike who was not a Beagle but actually a cross between a Pointer and a Hound.  Bonus Fact:  Snoopy was originally called “Sniffy” but that name was already being used in another comic strip.  Charles Schulz’s mom came up with the name Snoopy.

Best friends Snoopy and Charlie Brown are in The Peanuts Movie due in theaters November 6

Fun Fact:  Snoopy was created to be Charlie Brown’s best friend and in the spirit of everyone having a best friend, Charles Schulz created Woodstock to be Snoopy’s best bud. However, Woodstock didn’t start out as the fluffy little yellow bird we all know; he originally was a black crow.

  11. Ha! You look great in that Charlie Brown hat, Oz!!! We love Snoopy! Mom actually grew up with Beagles and had a stuffed toy Snoopy since she was about 8. She still has it, but oddly enough, we aren't allowed to play with it. Go figure.
    Yours sincerely,
