Andis for Pets: Grooming Made Easy

Are you a Sir Shed-A-Lot?  Are you a Terrier who could use a light grooming between hand-stripping?  Then you need to check out the gentle and easy-to-use Premium DeShedding Tool by Andis.

Andis grooming tools for pets makes home grooming easy

When it is time to be hand-stripped, I am not a happy and cooperative dog.  Ma does my hand-stripping by herself and I make it quite difficult; our session usually needs to be broken up over two days.  She has been looking for a brush or other grooming tool that can help remove some of the dead fur between stripping sessions so she was happy to try the Andis Premium Deshedding Tool.

Premium Deshedding Tool by Andis is gentle and easy to use on pets

Ma and I have tried other kinds of brushes and combs but none of them really worked and some even scratched my skin, which I didn't like at all.  Ouch!  I do like the Premium Deshedding Tool and I will sit for longer than usual periods of time while being "brushed".

Andis Premium Deshedding Tool for pets catches fur in the curved teeth

What we really like about the Andis Deshedding Tool is that you can run it gently through a dog's fur and still remove a lot of dead fur.  Ma says it seems like it removes half a Terrier.  The curved "teeth" on the Deshedding Tool make it so the fur does not go flying all about - it gets caught in the "teeth" and is then easily removed.

You can see how easy to use and how much fur it removes in my short video:

Andis Pets also sent me their Premium Flea Comb.  This is a very fine-toothed comb that is meant to remove adult fleas, loose fur, dirt and mats.  It can be used on both short and long coats and it is designed to stimulate the follicles to promote a healthier coat.

Andis Flea Comb removes adult fleas, dirt and mats in pets fur

Since I am currently in need of a hand-stripping, there is some dirt trapped in my fur (I don't know how I could get dirty - *wink, wink*).  The Andis Flea Comb pulls it right out of my coat.  The Flea Comb is also a great tool to pack when you are camping or hiking!  You can use it to make sure you haven't picked up any fleas and ticks before you get home from your adventure.

Andis' Premium Deshedding Tool and Flea Comb are great for home grooming whether you are a breed that sheds a lot or a breed that needs an in between grooming touch-up.  You can learn more about Andis' Pet Grooming Tools on their website

  4. Mom is always looking for a better option for our thick undercoats. We are going to do a little investigating of this premium deshedding tool to see if it works well for our breed. If so, Mom needs to get one.

  5. Anything that seems to remove "half a terrier" would be perfect for my cairn Gracie, who is never appropriately hand-stripped like she should be (just normal grooming). Thanks for the video!

  8. This looks great, Oz! Jasper is a big shedder and I'm always looking for ways to keep it in check. I may give this a try. I also found that the earthbath Shed Control Shampoo and Conditioner helps, so tell your ma. And, fleas...don't get me started on fleas in South Florida, right? Thanks for spreading the word about these products, Oz!

  9. I've been using the Furminator but this looks like it might work better on Summit's fur. I need to do something, the once a week brushing I'm giving him isn't stopping the fur from flying!

I swear by Andis products (and not like sailors). They are terrific and keep Sam looking like the handsome boy he's supposed to when we go to the hospital and visit patients. Great review and good job for letting your mom keep you all spiffed up, Oz.

  17. Bentley loves to be brushed and he is definitely a Sir Shed-A-Lot. Pierre is not a fan, but he will tolerate it on occasion. I'm glad that you found something that works on Oz. I know it can be a struggle.

  19. I have four rescued Treeing Walker Coonhounds, three of who have short coats and shed, but not the way Oz does. My Seiji, however, has a slightly longer coat (he's got something other than Coonhound in him) and I need to brush out the finer, under coat from him. This sounds like it would be perfect for grooming Seiji.

  22. That brush made a big difference on the coat of that little guy. Anyone that has a dog would say that they don't like having to deal with their dog's matted and mangy hair. This brush seems like the most simple solution. Maybe I need to get one for my Leonberger.
