Creeping on a Critter

Thank Dog It's Friday!  I am off on another adventure to Everglades National Park.  I will be camping, hiking, biking and creeping up on critters so I won't be around to your blogs until Monday.  However, you can creep up on a Florida critter with me here...as the Basilisk lizard we call Jesus (hay-Zeus) was visiting my backyard again the other day.

Shhhh, let's sneak up on him.

How cool was that?  Basilisks are generally very skittish so it's exciting to be able to get so close to Jesus before he stands up on his hind legs and runs off.

Here's a close-up of Jesus.  Just look at those hind legs.  Big and muscular.  The better to run away from you very quickly.  BOL

I hope you all have a great weekend.  I will try to share some of my Everglades adventures in real-time on my Facebook page and my Instagram account.

P.S.  If you missed my post yesterday CLICK HERE to find out about next week's #FuelTheCure Loving Life Contest and Fundraiser blog hop.  The Contest and Fundraiser will be open all week and for each post in the hop, Zuke's will donate $5 to The Dog and Cat Cancer Fund so please consider joining the hop.  All instructions and rules are in yesterday's post.  Thanks!

    Don't sneak up on any PYTHONS while you're in the Everglades. They might sneak up on you. {Yikes}
