Nina Ottosson Dog Casino is a Sure Bet

Back in May, I posted about receiving my very first puzzle toy, a Nina Ottosson Dog Tornado.  I even hosted a giveaway for one lucky reader to win one!  I played with the Dog Tornado almost every day and as time went on, it became super easy for me to figure out.  So, when I was offered a chance to review another Nina Ottosson Interactive Toy, I upped the ante and chose one of her harder toys - the Dog Casino.

Oz the Terrier: Nina Ottosson Dog Casino Activity Toy is a Sure Bet

The Nina Ottosson Dog Casino consists of eight drawers (where you can hide treats) and eight bone-shaped pegs that lock the drawers closed when they are in the puzzle.  The game is to get the bones out of their spots to unlock the drawers and get some delicious treats!  It is not as easy as it looks!

We followed the directions that came with the game about Learning How to Play.  First, Ma just put treats in the drawers and left the drawers open and I ate the treats from the drawer.  Next, she put treats in the drawers and closed them most of the way so I could practice opening the drawers to get my treats.

Then, she closed the drawers all the way and watched me figure out how to open them.  I got a BIG cheer from Ma when I did it the first time, so I know I did it right!  But then, she put the bone-shaped pegs in.  She hid treats under the bones so I could figure out how to get them out.  As a terrier, I really like to use my paws but I figured out real quick that I needed to use my mouth.

Needless to say, it may take a little longer than my Dog Tornado toy, but I have this Dog Casino figured out.  Just look at my video and see!  (I added some fun music in the video so I hope you like it.)

The Nina Ottosson Dog Casino is a Sure Bet in my book!  I love it and cannot wait to play with it each day.

All of Nina Ottosson's durable interactive games have been designed to stimulate a dog's brain while reinforcing the relationship with their pet parents.  Each different design has a unique mechanism that requires mental as well as physical dexterity to work through the challenges and reveal hidden food rewards.  By adding or subtracting game elements, you can adjust the level of difficulty of each design.

Now, remember the other day when I said I was going to have a Secret Santa Oz giveaway?  Well, guess what friends...it is a Secret Santa Oz Nina Ottosson Dog Activity Toy giveaway!

Oz the Terrier: Nina Ottosson Dog Activity Toys, Dog Casino

The Secret:  No one knows what toy the winner will get but they will get a Nina Ottosson Dog Activity Toy.

The Giveaway:  Is open to all U.S. residents and will close on Friday, December 19, 2014.  Good luck!

Post Disclaimer:  I received the Nina Ottosson Dog Casino Interactive Toy for free in exchange for an honest review.  I received no other compensation.  Nina Ottosson is not responsible for the content of this article.

  14. We have had a Tornado for years and love it. How do you think this one would be for giant corgi paws and a huge collie nose? I'll only spend the money on pricey treat games if all three dogs can play! Those kinds tend to be few and far between...

  15. The one you have looks challenging, so does the miracle puzzle. Bailie is the puzzler at our house and she always gets them done way too fast.

  16. OMD, that looks like a complete blast! Sam would love the intrigue at finding those treats. :)

  17. We used a Nina Ottosson toy at my pet store for a scavenger hunt, and even humans had trouble getting to the candy! So you're really smart Oz!

  18. That's pretty impressive, Oz, you did great with that! We have a couple of those games - The Twister and the Spinny, but we haven't gotten quite that far with them yet. They are great to have for the winter when we get outside less.

  19. The DogWorker looks fun to me too. I also like that there are puzzles for cats! I have a food-obsessed, highly annoying cat, so those puzzles would be great for him! He'd love it.

  22. I'd love any of the puzzle toys for dogs or cats (I have five and three of each). I really like the DogTornado Plastic. I have one dog who eats far too fast (she had nearly been starved and even though she's now overweight, she acts like she's still starving). I think giving her food and treats she has to work for would help slow down her eating.

  23. Wow Oz that toy looks really fun and challenging. We would probably start with one that is an easier level, but they all look fun

  26. We aren't really sure which puzzle would be right for us but we would probably start with one of the level 1 or 2 puzzles like the DogMemory Wood one. Thanks for hosting this give away.

  31. On really bad rainy days this would be the perfect solution for Layla as there is no place in my tiny studio for her to run around, it would keepher busy and stimulated and not just sleeping

  32. This looks pretty cool!

  33. Sundog is a "busy" dog and loves to work and do things. She would love this.
