Who's the Worst of the Worst Poets

It is the moment you have all been waiting for...the winners of the 2nd annual Bad Poetry Day Contest

I have to tell you, it was really hard choosing the worst of the worst poets!  There were so many BAD poems and there were some pretty good BAD poems.  You did not make it easy for me at all...which is why it has taken me so long to pick the winners!

Fan Favorite Worst Poem
The easiest winner to choose, of course, is the Fan Favorite Worst Poem.  For a while, it was a close race but then a sled dog pulled out in front...way out front...and took the race paws down with 44 likes.  Yes, your Fan Favorite Worst Poem (or should I say poems since there were several in that post) is Love is Being Owned by a Husky!

Worst Poem by a Human
This wasn't too difficult to choose since there were only a few humans who entered the contest.  The winner of  Worst Poem by a Human goes to someone whose pets (3 dogs, 1 cat and 1 psittacine) are actually really good poets; obviously they did not get their poetry skills from their mom!  BOL  Do you know who it is?  It is Bethany from Cascadian Nomads!

Worst Poem by a Cat
I didn't think it was actually possible for a cat to write something BAD.  Cats are always telling us dogs how they are such better bloggers, authors and overall writers than us but a few may not be as good as they THINK they are!  BOL  The winner of Worst Poem by a Cat is our very own Madi (that poem was really BAD, my dear Madi).

Worst Poem by a Dog
Great dog!  There were so many it was difficult to choose just one as our winner.  However, I finally decided which poem was truly THE WORST and that poem was written by Sasha.  Yes, Sasha is the winner of Worst Poem by a Dog.

Honorable Mentions (and possibly one "unmentionable") - non-prize category
The first Honorable Mention goes to a poem that made us laugh so hard that Ma's coffee came out her nose (gross!).  It goes to Pierre at Barking from the Bayou!  His Ode to Squirrel really cracked us up!  Good work, Pierre.

The next Honorable Mention goes to Gus and Jack, our rat friends from My Pawsitively Pets.  They both wrote fun haiku poems and their photos were just too cute!

Lastly...the Honorable Unmentionable goes to a poem about a Weim who wanted some private time with...a pillow.  That's right, our French friend Easy took bad poetry to a whole new level where "bad" is just a nice word for "naughty".  Si vilain!  Comment vulgaire!  Si grossier!  (Sorry if those aren't correct, Easy...we speak Spanish at my house, not French!)

So, for those in the four winning categories - Fan Favorite, Worst Poem by a Human, Worst Poem by a Cat and Worst Poem by a Dog - would you kindly email me at Oztheterrier at yahoo dot com with your mailing address so I can ship your prizes out to you!

And a *high paws* to everyone who entered our Contest!  You all did a great job!  Until next year...

  9. One ringy dingy... two ringy dingy Helloooo Oz ~ Why what happened I did not even get an UnHonorable Unmentionable darn. Could it be do to the fact I was busy working on Safety and could not get one submitted. Considering a lot of safety week people did not come over I should have just entered your contest. Well last year I sure did do a lot better. Congrats to all.
    Thanks for being a friend

There is, of course, no living with Pierre today. He has put on a red robe and is carrying a quill pen around in his mouth in case inspiration hits. We are thrilled that he won an honorable mention. I have to call his mom and tell her! XXOO
P.S. Thanks Oz! ☺ Pierre the Poet Horrible ♥
