Solvit Products Bench Seat Cover Review + #giveaway

By show of paws, how many of you love to go for a ride in the car?

I know I love going for a ride in the car.  Whether it is just down the road to the park, to the next town to visit grandma or hours of driving to go camping, I am always ready for a car  adventure.

And...no matter where we are going, I always get the back seat of Ma's SUV to myself (at least, most of the time I do).  Ma does worry a bit because she has (faux) leather seats and she is afraid I will scratch them up when I dig around to get comfortable.

That's why we jumped at the chance to review the new Sta-Put™Deluxe Bench Seat Cover by Solvit Products.  Solvit Products told us that the bench seat cover would protect Ma's seats while providing luxury and comfort for me.  Well, I will be the judge of that!

Solvit Products Sta-Put™ Deluxe Bench Seat Cover

The Deluxe Bench Seat Cover is made of padded & quilted construction and provides a soft cushion while protecting the back seat from dirt, dander and "spills".  Because it is quilted, the Deluxe Cover is not waterproof, but it is treated with Stain-Blok™.

The Deluxe Bench Seat Cover is 56 x 47 and weighs three pounds.  It carries a one year warranty against defects in materials and workmanship.  It retails for about $30.00.

Installing the Seat Cover
Putting the bench seat cover on is super easy.  Ma laid the cover in place and slipped the straps over the headrests and adjusted them accordingly.  She then found the two Sta-Put™ devices (white plastic tubes sewn to the underside of the cover) and pushed each into the gap between the back and bottom seat cushions.

Then, all she had to do was slip the elastic straps on the front corner of the bottom of the cover around the bottom of the seat.  Hot dawg!  The cover was on in just a few minutes.  Ma did attach the additional (and detachable) straps to the undercarriage of the seat for extra stability.

As you can see (in the previous photo), Solvit Products made sure there were two slits for the back seat belt buckles to pass through.  They are oversized, which is great, because Ma was able to get my ClickIt! buckles through as well.

Oz Tested and Approved
I like that the Sta-Put™ Deluxe Bench Seat Cover is made with a super-soft micro-suede top fabric.

Ma likes that is super easy to get on the seat and that it would remove quickly as well.  Ma also likes that it is machine washable because she is convinced I will get it dirty.  BOL

  1. That looks paw some....we have one in MY car but always find the front of it flips up when we jump in...mom ended up putting a second cover underneath it to keep the front of the seat clean. This one looks like it fits better.

  4. Momma has leather seats in her SUV too, but she has a clever solution. Do your seats fold down? Momma folds down the seat parts but leaves the seat back up, so it's still blocked out from the back. Cinderella and I hang out in the seat well with a blankie. It's very comfy!

  6. This looks really nice Oz. Unfortunately, my back seats are decked out with kiddy car seats for now. Shiner used to like riding in the car, but she seems kind of nervous about it these days. She still enjoys a little ride with me every now and then though.

  12. Happy Monday Oz....OMDs riding is okey dokey by me but my peeps don't like to ride with me because I
find it necessary to sing O' Sole Mia in first soprano for the duration of the ride.

  13. wow, that looks super comfy! much better than the common seat cover what make noises and what are slippery when you jump in your car with wet paws! I think on such a comfy place even me would enjoy a car ride! Have a great monday!

  16. I have five Treeing Walker Coonhounds of my own, and I also transport rescue dogs, so my seats get a real workout. I'd love a seat cover like this to help protect the interior of my mini-van.

  17. I am glad you liked that Oz, but I don't like to go for a ride anywhere, it is usually mot fun MOL!

  18. Gering-ding-ding-ding-dingeringeding What the Fox say oh that wrong what does The Great and Powerful Oz say.
Why those seat covers look so easy to install. We have split seats in our Rav in the back and one seat is usually down. I get harnessed in to the seat that is up and it would be nice to have a cover even though I am a clean dog.
You are the most knowledgeable dog I know.
    Thanks for being a friend

  19. That seat cover looks great we want to win! The one we have now isn't as easy to install and doesn't fit as well so we'd love to try this one out! Love Dolly

  20. This looks like a great way to protect the car seats. Mom's car has leather seats, she puts a blanket on the seat but it slips around on the leather, this cover would solve that problem! We would love to try one.

  21. Looks great! We have something similar for the back seat when we sit there but we are usually in the back of the SUV and have a whole different cover for that area. All are washable. Nice review...happy riding along!

  22. Oh what a fun review Oz! That seat cover looks pretty comfortable with the quilted material!

  23. I'm not entering as we already have that exact seat cover. We will second that it works great!

  24. (Shoot... Think my comment disappeared.) we have the same seat cover and will second that it works great!

  25. Oz that is another of Toby's favorite things to do in life. Four out of five times he's just riding to the store, waiting in the back seat, then riding home, yet he begs to go every single time. But the back seat gets kinda nasty. One time we drove another couple to dinner, then later realized we hadn't cleaned the seat first...ew. So yes, it would be really nice to have a seat cover like that. But I just won the gloves from you so I won't enter this time. But I'll keep my eyes open at the pet store.

  26. Oh and also yes Oz we did go camping and I put some pics on the blog :)

  27. I looooooooove riding in the car! Sometimes I refuse to get out if I feel we haven't done sufficient exploring.

  28. Great review! I would love to win one of these, since Mom is getting a new (to us) car in a few months and with it warming up, it'd be a great way to protect the seats from dirt and sand!

  29. OMD! That is most FABulous Oz!! As you might remember, Ma has me 'caged' in the back cab of the truck with all kinds of blankets and stuffs...this would be much betters! I wouldn't be able to 'tear it up' as easily, and Ma would be mumbling all those HBO words abouts how I am such a mess...hehehe
Oh, and might I say, you make a most excellent model Oz!!! Bravo!
    Kisses,
    Ruby ♥

  30. Notta big fan of the car rides. I don't a short trip as long as we are not going fast for some reason the faster we go the more nervous I get.

    Aroo to you,

  31. I'm always putting my back seats up and down so I've never installed the seat cover I bought last year. Chester and Gretel sit in a car seat anyway so their nails don't scratch my seats up. I love the idea of these covers though.

  32. Very cool Oz, looking good. I need a seat cover as I am new car shopping and I think I need one for that.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Oh what a great giveaway! And I loved your review as well!
The reason I need these seat covers is because, well, I have 3 huskies and we all love car rides! The beach in not walking distance so after everybody is all wet and sandy it would be nice to have a seat cover rather then a towel that they simply kick off the seats anyways!~!!!!

  34. We have a similar product but it's not quilted. This one looks more luxurious! :)

  35. The quilted material looks so comfy :) I love that it is machine washable! With 7 dogs our back seats get pretty messy.

  36. My dogs are a dirt magnet and I am always looking for ways to keep seats clean.

  37. Oh boy, my hubby just cleaned my car so I could take my sisters shopping and he said that the fur was so hard to get off our fabric seats. I wish we had leather seats but we couldn't afford it! We really need a seat cover for sure.

  39. I usually have my dog ride in a crate for safety, but sometimes we let her ride loose in the car and don't want fur all over our seats.

  40. That looks like an awesome seat cover! We're supposed to be reviewing something similar, but if it doesn't get here soon we might have to try to win yours!

  43. Oh boy Oz you read my mind. My sapiens are going crazy with the dyson animal vacuum trying to clean off my fur. This would be perfect!

    ReplyDelete
  44. I need this because my best friends Fang (Westie) and Queenie (Border Collie) ride in the back seat all the time. Last week they played in the yard before getting in the car and I had horrible mud everywhere.

    ReplyDelete
  45. My dog is a short-haired Dobie mix but she sheds quite a bit. She also travels with me often so this seat cover would be the ideal solution for protecting the interior of my Blazer.

  46. I go through covers like crazy. My biggest complaint is the straps that attach to the back of the seat dry rot in the Florida sun. We're not the "Sunshine State" for nothing!
