#ScoopThatPoop: How Lazy can One be?

Scooping poop is as easy as 1, 2, 3.
Wouldn't you agree?  It is as simple as:
1.  Poop
2.  Scoop
3.  Place in trash receptacle

That's all there is too it.  It's not rocket science.  It is also not some exhausting exercise routine either...and honestly, some people need to bend and stretch a bit more, if you know what I mean.

Now, we all have found un-scooped poop left by the lazy dog owner.  Remember, I found one pile that looked like it came from a pony-sized dog, just left in the grass for other dogs to step in?  And oh, what about the piles of poop I found in the middle of the sidewalk 20 steps away from the trash receptacle!!  Lazy.

But, the next type of lazy dog owner really takes the cake.  The other day I was walking, trying to mind my own business, when I spied an odd color under one of my favorite trees.  Something pink.

Upon closer inspection, I saw that it was none other than a pink poop bag.  A USED PINK POOP BAG.

So, I ask you:  Is there something I am missing about Step 3?  Is carrying a poop bag to the nearest trash receptacle the equivalent of climbing Mount Everest?  Or running the Boston Marathon?

I guess some people are just THAT lazy.  To all the Lazy-Bones out there:  if you are going to scoop, then please throw it in the trash!

  1. 1,2,3 easy peasy. Pity others don't always bother. Have a marvellous Monday.

  2. We all just hang out in our backyard to poop and Mom goes out twice a day to scoop the poop! It's actually the HIGHLIGHT of her day! (Mom, get a life). BOL

    Hap-Pee Monday!

  3. I agree Oz, some people are really THAT lazy. Maybe 20 steps are toooo much for some people, but I wish they would make even one step in the right direction. Some ways in my area look like a poop-a-thon-track, that's so annoying.

  4. You broke it down into its simplest 3-step form, Oz. Thanks for sharing.

    (Haha, love Amber's comment above!)

  5. Pretty sad that some peeps are so lazy. Mom actually did get a picture of the neighbor dogs pile later in the afternoon, but with leaves and shadows it did not turn out well. There is also a snow shovel laying on their grass that has been there for a few weeks now. Can't wait till it snows again and covers it up and they can't find it! BOL.

  6. YES, Lots of LAZY dog owners. It's part of dog ownership to scoop your dog's poop. It is sad as you guys live in a very nice community where garbage cans are available. Golden Thanks for helping us spread the word and importance of scooping dog's poop, #ScoopThatPoop. Lots of Golden Woofs, Sugar

  7. I'm with you Oz, it is as easy as 1-2-3! We find filled poop bags at the base of trees all over our neighborhood. If you're going to take the time to buy the poop bags and pick up the poop, why can't you just carry it to a trash can? Doesn't make any sense to us!

  8. We see filled bags alot, it's soooo lazy. Really don't get some people.

  11. You are right, we are on the same wavelength today :) Humans are just lazy in general about poop. If you don't want to carry it get an attachment for your leash or double bag and put it in a pocket or a backpack. There is no way to explain not picking up after your dog, simple as that!

  12. Way to go Oz! Scooping is the polite thing to do!

  13. Oz I 100% agree with this post. Even though I'm a cat and I have a box...my mom never ever lets anything stay in my
box. She scoops it twice a day.

As for the king and queen of QofH, it would be nice to have a crowning but my mom (aka old gray mare) has no clue how to do a counting thingie either and no one has offered so I guess we'll just have to forego it this time.
The one person I know who can do it is running hosting another event and she is trying to get her online shop going so maybe next time. I hope you are going to have yourself dressed up for the Dance?

  14. Hopefully they set it there and forgot it and it is not normal practice. I guess if you see more, you will know.

  15. Great Post!! Couldn't have said it better myself!
I can't believe the amount of used poop bags I find while im out and about. Like really, if you are going to pick up the poop, why not put it in a garbage can.....to me it makes no sense....If they are just going to leave a poop filled bag laying there, why even bother picking it up to begin with? Craziness!

  17. I see this all the time in our area; I blame those biodegradable poop bags - people think that they can just be left behind not understanding that the plastic still breaks down, just into smaller pieces. Jeez, people!! THINK!

  19. High paw for writing this! We are fortunate to live in a house that has windows up against a neighborhood common area, and opening the window to discover a fresh pile of poop right outside is always unpleasant and puzzling. We haven't known how to remind people to be polite, but you worded it perfectly!

  20. You better scoop it or else

  21. Maybe I am wrong, but if you are going to leave a used poop bag on the ground, wouldn't it be better to just not scoop at all? Sheesh...

  22. I agree... 100% complete laziness.

  23. Okay I agree dog owners should scoop the poop if you live in town. I live out in the country and how my peeps scoop the poop around the house is get out the riding lawnmower and mow over it. Come to think of it that's pretty lazy she could at least get out the push lawnmower.

    Aroo to you,
    Sully

  26. Jason and I were discussing this recent littering trend just the other day. He and I were wondering what types if people know they are supposed to clean up after their dog but then just leave the full bag laying on the ground. Just like there is no poop fairy, there is no filled-poop-bag fairy!

  27. I absolutely hate that when folks leave poop on the sidewalk. So obnoxious. And we have the SAME THING in our neighborhood - someone has been scooping the poop in blue pickup bags - then leaving the bags sitting on walls or on the sidewalk. There are no trashcans in our neighborhood (except on trash day when everyone has their cans out on the street) so I guess folks are just too lazy to carry it back home. Lazy people suck!

  28. Argh! We see that a lot and really don't get it. If you're smart enough to pick it up, why aren't you smart enough to put it in the trash?

  30. I see that often at dog shows that are outside, if you bother to pick it up why not just throw it away. Thanks for the great message and cute photos.
