gad-Zuke's! I Love These Treats: Product Review and Giveaway

Being on a raw food diet, Ma is always trying to find the best, healthiest treats for me.  It's not always easy since I have food allergies.

That's why we were so excited when we met Miss Sarah, Worldwide Bone Ambassador of Zuke's, at BarkWorld.  I couldn't believe it...Miss Sarah knew who I was and she couldn't wait to meet me!  She is super nice; she even gave me a sample (or two) of Zuke's treats to try right there.  It was love at first taste, I tell you.

Miss Sarah asked me if I would like to review some of the different types of Zuke's treats on my blog.  After sampling the delicious Rabbit & Apple Lil' Links at BarkWorld, I jumped at the chance!  A few weeks later, I received some Zuke's Lil' Links and Zuke's Supers in the mail.

Zuke's Lil' Links
I received the Rabbit & Apple and Pork & Apple Lil' Links to try (there's a Chicken & Apple flavor as well, but I am allergic to chicken).  Lil' Links are grain-free, nutrient-rich treats made from real meat and wholefood ingredients.  There are no artificial colors, flavors or added fats.  You can get a bag of Zuke's Lil' Links for $7.99 (that's a great price!).

Ingredients:
(Rabbit, Pork or Chicken), Apples, Carrots, Potatoes, Maple Syrup, Vegetable Glycerin, Tapioca, Gelatin, Salt, Phosphoric Acid, Sorbic Acid, Rosemary, Tumeric, Sage, Citric Acid and Mixed Tocopherols.

Both the Rabbit & Apple and Pork & Apple Lil' Links are chewy and delicious, however I must admit the Rabbit & Apple are my all time favorite.  Can you tell?

Zuke's Supers

I received all three flavors of Zuke's Supers - Tasty Greens Blend, Yummy Berry Blend and Yummy Betas Blend.  These are treats made from superfoods and are great for keeping an active dog's energy up and soaring.

Zuke's Supers are made from fruits and vegetables, are low in gluten and are a great nutrient boost for dogs on raw diets (Hello!  That's me!).  You can get a bag of Supers for $6.99.

Ingredients:
Greens: Ground Oats, Alfalfa, Tapioca, Vegetable Glycerin, Green Beans, Spinach, Gelatin, Molasses, Sunflower Oil, Broccoli, Peas, Asparagus, Kale, Cabbage, Kelp, Phosphoric Acid, Sorbic Acid (a preservative), Rosemary, Turmeric, Cinnamon, Citric Acid, Mixed Tocopherols.

Betas: Ground Oats, Tapioca, Pumpkin, Vegetable Glycerin, Carrots, Sweet Potatoes, Gelatin, Molasses, Butternut Squash, Apricots, Sunflower Oil, Phosphoric Acid, Sorbic Acid (a preservative), Rosemary, Turmeric, Cinnamon, Citric Acid, Betacarotene, Mixed Tocopherols.

Berry:  Ground Oats, Tapioca, Beets, Vegetable Glycerin, Cranberries, Blueberries, Gelatin, Molasses, Raspberries, Blackberries, Cherries, Sunflower Oil, Phosphoric Acid, Sorbic Acid (a preservative), Rosemary, Turmeric, Cinnamon, Citric Acid, Mixed Tocopherols.

Zuke's Supers are little bites of deliciousness.  I enjoyed all the flavors but can you believe...my favorite flavor is the Greens?!?  Since these are little bites, they only have about 6-7 calories per treat which would make them an excellent little training treat as well as an excellent energy boost treat on hikes or during other activities.

I would jump to the moon and back for Zuke's treats, they are THAT good (or...they are just giving me tons of energy to the point that I think I am a puppy again...BOL).

Now...here's the BEST part of this post:
Miss Sarah is allowing me to give one lucky follower (must be U.S. resident, sorry my international pals) a 3-pack of Zuke's Lil' Links, one package of each flavor - Rabbit & Apple, Pork & Apple and Chicken & Apple!!

I tell you, whoever wins is going to LOVE these treats!  To enter the giveaway, please log in to the Rafflecopter.  Winners will be announced next Thursday, September 26.

  15. We have tried Zukes mini treats before and love them. I often use them as a training treat for my fur kids. We would absolutely love to win all these yummy treats and I love that its several bags, so would be plenty for all my fur kids as I have eight dogs, including three rescues. Thanks for the chance to win, I am particular about the food and treats I use, as a couple of my dogs have food sensitivities so these are perfect! Love your fur kid, so cute!

    1. Wow! Bless you for having such a big fur family and for adopting rescues! We are particular too about treats and find these are great tasting, made from real ingredients treats!

  16. We LOVE Zuke's treats at SlimDoggy's house. We recently put Jack on a single protein diet to see if it helps his itching and we choose salmon (to be a 'novel' protein) I was worried what we would do about treats...and Zuke's to the rescue. We use the tiny treat a lot for training and find the food and the make a Salmon one! So psyched. Maggie loves the bones too and the green apple ones are a favorite. I sure hope we win!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Oooh, who doesn't love salmon. I am itchy like Jack so just food for thought (BOL) another novel protein I have done really well on is Venison, though it can be a bit expensive. I was so glad to see that Zuke's are made from real ingredients and use only natural preservatives...and are single-protein as well!

  17. Wow we like the Zukes mini treats for training! These all sound like yummy flavors to try and we have not seen them in our local petco yet!. Mom would like to know how you determined what you are alergic to, were you tested or was it trial and error ?

    1. Ma switched me to a single-protein diet and started with beef. I ate it and was just fine. She then tried single-protein salmon (I was fine) and single-protein duck (again fine). She then tried single-protein chicken and about an hour after eating it, I started scratching like crazy. Ma looked and I was covered in a rash. All the other ingredients in the food were the same except the proteins...chicken was the culprit.

It took a lot of time, but it is worth it to know so I can avoid chicken, chicken by-products, etc in foods and treats.

    2. Thank you OZ. Our vet says my itchies are allergies but we still don't know whether it is food or seasonal stuff. I am much better though since it has cooled down. I have never had chicken much, just in an occasional treat. our regular vet did not think it is food related cause it isn't all over my body, but another said the first sign of food allergies is itchy feet.
Hopefully we can figure it out too so we can know what to avoid
      love Greta

      Delete
    3. Hi Greta. You are welcome. Just so you know, my itchies from my food allergies appear all over my body. Food allergies tend to be more "systemic" - affecting the whole body system - than say seasonal (grass, pollen) allergies. At least, that is what I have been told.
Good luck! Figuring out ones allergies takes time and patience.
