New Way to Comment

That's right.  Blogger has added a new commenting system (and it's about time) for friends with Google+ accounts.

The downside:  if you do not have a G+ Profile, you would not be able to comment on my blog if I turned that new feature on.  *sigh*  I do love seeing and reading everyone's pawprints (comments) on my blog.

So what is a dog to do?

First, Miss Ann and the crew over at My Pawsitively Pets has created a POLL to see if you would prefer using your Blogger (or other) Profile versus your G+ Profile to comment on our blogs.

However, you may notice when you go to leave a comment here or over at My Pawsitively Pets that there are now two icons - one for Blogger and one for G+ - at the top of the Comment Section.  Miss Ann brilliantly found a code to allow our followers to toggle between using the Old Blogger Comment System or the new G+ Comment System!  You just click which one you want to use and then leave your comment (the default is still the old system).

Thank you Miss Ann!

Miss Ann added hers last evening because she is (to me at least) a Techie Queen.  It has taken Ma and I ALL morning to get the codes in the right places (and IE wouldn't even let us edit the code - pfffttthhhbbbtt!).  BOL

Anyway, please let me and Miss Ann know what you think - you can leave a comment AND take the POLL.

Have a great Thursday!  I am joining Pepi Smart Dog for Thankful Thursday because I am so thankful for Miss Ann's help with my blog!

  1. Well for right now we are going to stick with blogger, cause we have not read up on G+ enough to understand it!

  2. I got that email from Blogger telling me about G+. I don't feel like irritating myself yet, so haven't made any changes. Eventually Blogger will tell us we must make the change and that will be that.

    1. Yes, if they only have the G+ enabled and you do not have a G+ account, you would not be able to comment.

    1. Well, considering NONE of the G+ comments are showing with this new code...I may just give up and go back to the old way.

  10. I have a G+ account, but I blog on WordPress and it's actually my job. I would be superbly frustrated if my comments didn't link back to my blog. It's already frustrating that so many blogspot bloggers don't have the URL option for comments, meaning I leave my web address in the comments, which I don't like doing.

Yes, I sound crotchety, but blogging is what I do, so I get all cranky pants when I'm thwarted in commenting.

    1. I hear you on the "not having an URL option" in Blogger comments. It is the ONE thing I wish they would add to the "old" system and still they have not. I don't understand why they won't.

BOL! You are not crotchety...I would HATE if people could not leave a comment just because they do not have G+. OMD...I would be so upset.

  11. We can barely get to grip with what we do as the idiot peeps is not that smart. Yikes you can't get help these days. We need a blog about blogging for dummies. Have a terrific Thursday.

    1. BOL! Tell me about it! And though I have this toggle thingy added so people can comment using either/or, I'm not sure I like it. Bring on the blog about blogging for dummies!

  12. I would stick with blogger. I have a G+ account but I don't care for G+ so I never use it, and personally, if they won't share and allow other profiles to comment I don't like to play...not into monopoly things :)

  13. Hey Oz, Techie Queen?! I am flattered BOL I don't know if I am deserving of that title though ;) You know my thoughts about this already. I'm leaving this comment with the default comment system and am going to leave one with the G+ system too.

  14. can we be any MORE confused? lol. If it's blogger I comment as blogger.....no back and forth for me! I use Wordpress AND blogger AND Google+ don't need any more confusion! lol

  15. Oh dear... in the words of Garth from Wayne's World: "We fear change."

I have a G+ account, but i have such a hard time finding my way around over there! And when folks leave a comment on my blog that links back to their G+ a/c, i have a hard time finding my way to their blog - which is the place I wanna be!

Oh google - why can't you make it easier for us! (And WHY OH WHY can't they make it easier to thwart the spammy spammers!)

I want all my 4 and 2 legged friends to be able to comment.

  17. Currently, we're commenting with our Google account, but, if the blogger is on Wordpress, I use that account. Rather confusing, I agree.

  19. It would be really great if I could leave a comment from my GoPetFriendly Google+ page, but I doubt that's one of the options. Even when I want to share a post on g+ I can only do it from my personal account. Google still has some things to work out for those of us hoping to connect through our brands, not personally.

  20. Blogger, please. The less I have to do with g+ the better.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Oh, that's good! I was worried that I might not get to comment, but at least I can still do it!
Me, I'll just be sticking to Blogger - I'm sooo not a techie queen like clever Miss Ann!
    Have a super week!

  23. I'm not sure why sites keep offering all the "improvements" that nobody asked for. Oh well. Can't complain too much if the service is free.

  25. Personally I would like to see a universal commenting system. It seems like I sign in under "Jodi" on some "Heart Like a Dog" on some and "Letters to Andrew" on others. I never know which platform I'll encounter.

  26. Oh I hadn't heard about this. For now, I prefer commenting using blogger just because I don't use Google Plus.
