Good Deeds and Guard Duty

Well, we are heading into another weekend here and you all know what that means…Saturday guard duty and a visit from the ‘treat lady’ (Grandma) while the owners are out building houses with Habitat for Humanity of Broward (Broward is the County we live in here in Florida). The owners do volunteer their time almost every Saturday and will be going tomorrow as well, however the ‘treat lady’ is away so I will be stuck with just guard duty. *Sighs*

This is how I usually guard the house (ssshhh…don’t tell on me):

Guard duty can be exhausting
Anyway, the owners do volunteer once a year with Habitat for Humanity International as well and last year they went to build houses in Chiang Mai, Thailand. I did not get to go with them but I didn’t have to stay on guard duty either; I got to spend 18 days with Grandma at her house! That was very fun and I did get lots of treats every day. *Wags tail*

When the owners return from most trips I usually get a new stuffie toy but this time, they did come back empty handed. I was a bit dismayed until they showed me the photographs of all the neat flowers and interesting anipals in Thailand.

First, there was a dragon!

I especially like the elephants:

There were also oxes…or oxen…whatever:

And this pretty (and gi-huge-ic) moth:

Wingspan was approx. 5 inches
Oh, and I can’t forget the giant wasp that ended up down the back of mom’s pants (which sent her screaming for dad to “get it out” – BOL):

There were lots of pretty flowers, especially orchids (which mom loves), all over the place. I keep trying to smell the photographs to get the flowers scents, but I get nothing.  Let me know if you catch their scent!

  4. Mom and Dad really like to do this. I have been on the construction site here in Florida and I even have my own Habitat for Humanity nametag. I am the official "Site Greeter" when I am there. BOL

I do wish I could other places, but then I would have to be in jail if we go to nother country. That wouldnt be any fun. I prefer to stay with Grandma!!!

Thanks Bax, Teags, Sprite & Finn for visiting my bloggie! xxxxx
