If you want to see the sunshine, you have to weather the storm. -- Frank Lane
After all our preparations, we were very lucky that Hurricane Matthew did not come as far west when near South Florida as first predicted, We had light winds and light rain and then, the storm moved on. We spent the last few days taking down all our hurricane shutters and reorganizing the garage...again.
There wasn't any damage to anything we own. A few friends in northern Florida and up in Georgia had some light damage - fences down, some trees down - but nothing major and not anything that cannot be fixed.
We continue to keep everyone in Matthew's path in our thoughts and prayers. We know a lot of people up and down the southeast coast are without power. Let's hope everything returns to "normal" for everyone soon.
It's Black & White Sunday with Sugar and Nola!
So glad you came through with no damage! Matthew got to us last night with wind rain and flooding but no damage here either and the power was out only briefly. I hope the lights come on soon for those without power.

ReplyDeleteI'm SO glad you guys didn't have any damages or too much angst. It's always smart to be prepared and you were - Kudos for that! Adorable photo of Ozzie! I feel bad for Aimee at Irresistible Pets, and I'm worried about them. VA wasn't supposed to get much of an impact at all, but they must have had lots of surge because her entire yard, street, and much of her house is flooded! Keeping my fingers crossed for her, especially since she's SO pregnant, baby's due very soon!
