Our local news is telling us we can expect Tropical Storm force winds (30 - 60 mph) to start sometime early afternoon today. Graphics show that we will be getting hurricane force winds (above 75 mph) later this evening through the night into tomorrow morning.
Matthew is currently a Category 4 hurricane on the Saffir-Simpson Wind Scale. That means Hurricane Matthew has sustained winds - not gusts - between 130-156 mph.
If you see information about Hurricane Matthew on your local news and they show a map,
we are located near West Palm Beach.
we are located near West Palm Beach.
We are sorry we haven't visited your blogs the last couple of days. We have been busy preparing for the storm. Don't worry, we have enough food and water to get us through the storm and for several days afterwards.
We will most likely lose power later today which means no computer and no internet. It is very possible we will lose cellular service as well. We are going to try and keep our social media updated for as long as we can so you can follow us on Instagram, Facebook or Twitter.
For all our friends who live north of us, who are in the path of Hurricane Matthew, we hope you all stay safe! We will be thinking and praying for everyone.
Oz I cross my paws for you and your neighbors and I hope that the storm is over soon without damage and sorrows.... lots of POTP for all in the storm area....
ReplyDeleteThanks Easy!
DeleteWe are crossing our paws that you weather the storm okay!
ReplyDeleteThank you Casey. We are hoping for the best and are prepared for the worst.
DeleteRing Ring Ring Ozzie sounds like you are totally prepared. Now make sure you do a piddle before the big winds come. Maybe Daddydog should get in those nice pots under the shuttered up windows you don't want them blowing away. You take care and stay safe.
ReplyDeleteSweet William The Scot
BOL Sir William! This photo was taken before Daddy-dog moved everything into the garage! My backyard is now completely empty...it looks sad.
DeletePraying the winds are not taking you away and that your place is safe.
DeleteSWTS
Stay safe friends and lots of hugs to you. Our friends are near Tampa and St. Augustine
ReplyDeleteSnorts,
Lily & Edward
Thank you Lily & Edward. Oh, we will say some prayers for your friends up North Florida!
DeleteSince it is Matthew, shouldn't it be a himicane?
ReplyDeleteNo cell phone? Good thing that you're not a teenager.
Yes, we always say it should be a himicane when it is a boy's name! BOL Good thing is right!
DeleteWe are keeping you Oz and your family in our thoughts and prayers...stay safe. so glad you are well prepared. stella rose
ReplyDeleteThank you Stella Rose!
DeleteStay safe!!!!
ReplyDeleteYour Pals,
Murphy & Stanley
We will, Doodz!
DeleteWe're near Ft. Myers so not in the direct path of Matthew unless it wobbles a little to the west. I'm pretty sure we'll lose the Internet and the television service since it goes out on a sunny day for no reason at all. We'll be thinking about you guys and saying a prayer that you'll stay safe with no damage to property.
ReplyDeleteHugs
BOL Amber....that is the TRUTH about about the internet and cable going down! Even on a sunny day, which makes us even more mad. Thank you!
DeleteBe safe!
ReplyDeleteWe will be, Milton and Mr. Stubbs!
DeleteOZ, it sounds like you as prepared as you can be. We will be keeping you in our thoughts and
ReplyDeletepray everyone stays safe
hugs
Mr Bailey, Hazel & Mabel
Thank you, Pug Kids!
DeleteWe are about 10 miles north of you. We are hoping that the impact windows were worth the price. I did put up shutters on the back patio. I have 4 large sliders that I did not change to impact windows. My garage door is braced. Hoping for the best.
ReplyDeleteOh friends, please stay safe! We will be thinking of you and all our friends up the southeast coast! Be sure to check in after the storm, when you can!
DeleteEight paws and two hands (with fingers) crossed for you, Daddy Dog and Oz to stay very safe. It's scary. We're holed up in a hotel further west from us in Plantation, waiting it out. Thinking of you and Oz, Gina. Hugs.
ReplyDeleteThank you Jody! So glad you are all safe! Plantation should be far enough inland to not get such bad winds.
DeleteWe hope and pray you will all be safe. Know we are thinking of you and sending 'pawsitive' thoughts.
ReplyDeleteThank you friends!
DeleteI am glad that you had time to prepare. Stay hunkered. Love y'all ♥
ReplyDeleteThanks MK! We are glad we took several days to thoroughly prepare as well. Can you believe some were just putting up shutters this morning? So crazy.
DeleteOur paws are crossed and we are saying our prayers for you, Oz! Stay safe!
ReplyDeleteThank you Molly and Mackie! Little winds and light rain are starting now but nothing major scheduled until later this evening.
DeleteYou seem to know the drill quite well. Unless you work for the weather service, we don't expect you to stay in contact. Spend your time staying safe.
ReplyDeleteGlad you are ready. We've been watching Matthew's path on the News. Hang on to something solid, looks like it may be quite a ride. Paws crossed.
ReplyDeleteWe are so worried about you, now that we know exactly where you are! Please stay safe. We appreciate anything you can do to keep us apprised of your safety, but that safety is most important right now.
